I received my Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in 1974 in Child and Developmental Psychology. I am a licensed Psychologist in NJ and PA.

From 1974 to the 1976, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston Texas in the Department of Pediatrics where I redirected my career into Child Clinical Psychology.

In the following years, I have worked as a Clinical Psycholgist at Bancroft Neurohealth, the University of Penssylvannia, and Ancora Hospital.

For 21 years I was the Clinical Director at an adolescent residental center in New Jersey.

My general therapy approach has been based on the work of William T. Powers who created Perceptual Control Theory and Method of Levels Therapy (a cognitive behavioral therapy).  See the information under Services provided for a description of my therapy approach.  I am considered to be 'a leading figure' among people interested in PCT and MOL (See http://www.pctweb.org/whatis/whatispct.html ).

While I consider myself to be a generalist, I would identify trauma treatment, therapy with children and adolescents, stress and pain management as specialty areas.

I believe in the scientist/practioner model and am active in therapy research

I work with several insurance companies (Aetna, BC/BS) and managed care organizations ( Value Options, Magellan Behavioral Health, MHN).
